    Description

WWI Committee On Public Information Boxed Set Of Military Glass Lantern Slides Division of Films.  Set of 31 Glass Slides showing the U.S.  Military. These slides where shipped to movie theaters, churches, clubs, schools, colleges, universities, and etc. where the so called "4 Minute Men" would give a talk to go with the slides. President Wilson set up the Committee On Public Information as a counter to German propaganda saying with the U.S. it would be giving the people the truth - something which wasn't always the case.
These slides were used to build support for the war among the people - to get the people fully behind the troops.
A few of the slides have some cracking; however, there is no glass loss.
Great opportunity to get the slides with their original shipping box - uncommon thus.
Slides run the gamut from marching to machine gun training, hand-grenade training (w/ explosions), and etc. Slides measure 3.25" X 4" and are matted with a  black tape-like material.  Box measures 4.5" X 5.25" X 5.5". Heavy.
